Your videos never leave your machine.

Most online subtitle tools upload your files to a remote server. Your videos pass through infrastructure you don't control.

fwip works differently. The processing engine runs entirely in your browser. Your video is read from your device, processed on your CPU, and the result is saved back to your device. No server is involved. We literally cannot see your file.

No server processing

Everything runs on your device using WebAssembly. Your file never touches a network.

Frequently asked.

How do I burn subtitles into a video without uploading it?
Drop your video and SRT file onto fwip. FFmpeg runs directly in your browser via WebAssembly, hardcoding the subtitles into the video. Your files never leave your device.
What video formats are supported?
fwip supports MP4, MOV, MKV, and WebM videos up to 2 GB. The output is always an MP4 with permanently baked-in subtitles.
What subtitle format do I need?
fwip uses standard SRT files. Most subtitle editors and transcription services export SRT. Each subtitle entry has a sequence number, timestamp, and text.
What is the difference between hardcoded and soft subtitles?
Hardcoded (burned-in) subtitles are part of the video image and always visible. Soft subtitles are a separate track that can be toggled on or off. fwip burns them in permanently.
