What video formats can I convert?▾
fwip accepts MOV, MKV, AVI, WebM, FLV, WMV, 3GP, MPEG, and most other video formats. Output is MP4 (H.264) or WebM.
Is MP4 the best output format?▾
For universal compatibility, yes. MP4 with H.264 plays on every device, browser, and platform. WebM is slightly smaller and better for web embedding but less universally supported.
Does converting reduce quality?▾
fwip uses high-quality encoding settings. When possible it remuxes (repackages without re-encoding) to preserve original quality. When re-encoding is needed, quality loss is minimal.
Is my video uploaded?▾
No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser using ffmpeg WebAssembly. Your video never leaves your device.
How long does conversion take?▾
Depends on file size and your device's processing power. Most short videos convert in seconds. Longer videos may take a minute or two. Everything runs locally — no waiting for upload/download.
