Your audio never leaves your machine.

Most online audio speed changers upload your file to a server. fwip adjusts speed entirely in your browser — your recordings stay private.

fwip works differently. The processing engine runs entirely in your browser. Your audio is read from your device, processed on your CPU, and the result is saved back to your device. No server is involved. We literally cannot see your file.

No server processing

Everything runs on your device using WebAssembly. Your file never touches a network.

Frequently asked.

Can I speed up audio without changing pitch?
Yes. fwip uses FFmpeg's atempo filter which adjusts speed while preserving pitch. The audio sounds faster or slower without the "chipmunk" or "deep voice" effect.
What's the maximum speed?
You can go from 0.25× (4 times slower) to 4.0× (4 times faster). Extreme speeds may affect audio quality.
Does this work with podcasts?
Absolutely. Speeding up podcasts to 1.5× or 2.0× is a common way to save time. The pitch stays natural so speech remains clear and understandable.
Can I slow down audio for transcription?
Yes. Slowing audio to 0.5× or 0.75× makes it easier to transcribe. The pitch stays the same so words remain clear.
What formats are supported?
MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, AAC, and FLAC as input. Output is available as MP3 or WAV.
