What kinds of noise can this remove?▾
The FFT-based denoiser is most effective at removing constant background noise like fan hum, air conditioning, electrical buzz, room tone, and ambient noise. It's less effective on sudden sounds like dog barks or door slams.
Will cleaning audio affect voice quality?▾
On Light and Medium settings, voice quality is preserved with minimal impact. Heavy and Maximum settings may slightly affect voice naturalness but remove more noise. We recommend starting with Medium and adjusting if needed.
How does this work without uploading my audio?▾
fwip processes audio entirely in your browser using FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. The noise reduction runs on your CPU. Your audio file never leaves your device.
What audio formats are supported?▾
fwip accepts MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, AAC, and FLAC as input. Output can be WAV (lossless) or MP3 (smaller file size).
How is this different from Adobe Podcast or Krisp?▾
Adobe Podcast requires uploading your audio to Adobe's servers. Krisp requires installing a desktop app and a monthly subscription. fwip runs in your browser with no upload, no account, and no subscription.
Can I clean audio from video files?▾
Not directly. First use fwip's Extract Audio or MP4 to MP3 tool to extract the audio track, then clean it here.
