How does face detection work without uploading my photo?▾
fwip runs a lightweight AI face detection model directly in your browser using WebAssembly. The model is only 1.2 MB and processes images instantly on your device. No server is involved.
Can I choose which faces to blur?▾
Yes. After detection, each face gets a numbered toggle. Click any toggle to deselect that face — it won't be blurred. This lets you keep specific people visible while anonymising others.
How accurate is the face detection?▾
The AI model detects faces accurately in most conditions including group photos, different angles, and varying lighting. Very small faces (under ~30 pixels) or heavily obscured faces may not be detected.
What's the difference between blur, pixelate, and black bar?▾
Gaussian blur smoothly obscures the face while keeping the photo natural-looking. Pixelate creates a mosaic effect common in news footage. Black bar completely covers the face with a solid rectangle.
Does this work for group photos?▾
Yes. The AI detects multiple faces in a single image. Each detected face gets its own toggle so you can selectively blur individuals in group shots.
