Your audio never leaves your machine.

Most online audio editors upload your file to a server. fwip adds fade effects entirely in your browser — your recordings stay private.

fwip works differently. The processing engine runs entirely in your browser. Your audio is read from your device, processed on your CPU, and the result is saved back to your device. No server is involved. We literally cannot see your file.

No server processing

Everything runs on your device using WebAssembly. Your file never touches a network.

Frequently asked.

What is a fade in/fade out?
A fade in gradually increases the volume from silence to full level at the start of your audio. A fade out does the opposite — gradually decreasing volume to silence at the end. This creates smooth, professional transitions.
How long should my fade be?
For music: 2-5 seconds is typical. For podcasts: 1-2 seconds works well. For sound effects: 0.5-1 second. The right length depends on your content and preference.
Can I add just a fade out?
Yes. Set the Fade In slider to 0 seconds and only use the Fade Out slider. You can use any combination of fade in and fade out, including just one or the other.
Does fading change the audio length?
No. Fading only changes the volume at the start and end of your file. The total duration remains exactly the same.
What formats are supported?
MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, AAC, and FLAC as input. Output is available as MP3 or WAV.
