How does PDF to Text work without uploading?▾
fwip reads the embedded text content from your PDF using JavaScript running in your browser. No server processing, no upload — the document stays on your device.
Does this work with scanned PDFs?▾
This tool extracts embedded text — it works with PDFs created from Word, Google Docs, or other digital sources. For scanned PDFs (which contain images instead of text), use fwip's OCR PDF tool.
Does it preserve formatting?▾
The output is plain text. Paragraph structure is preserved where possible, but complex formatting (tables, columns, headers) is simplified to linear text.
Can I extract text from specific pages?▾
Currently fwip extracts text from all pages. You can copy just the sections you need from the output.
What about password-protected PDFs?▾
fwip can extract text from PDFs that allow copying. Password-protected PDFs with copy restrictions cannot be processed.
