What does this tool check?▾
fwip validates XMP metadata (PDF/A declaration), encryption, JavaScript, font embedding, output intents, launch actions, and transparency groups (PDF/A-1). Each check reports pass or fail.
Which PDF/A versions are supported?▾
The validator detects and checks against PDF/A-1a, 1b, 2a, 2b, 3a, and 3b conformance levels. It reads the declared level from XMP metadata.
Is this a certified validator?▾
This is a structural validation tool that checks key PDF/A requirements. For formal ISO certification, use a tool like veraPDF. fwip catches the most common compliance issues.
What if my PDF fails validation?▾
Use fwip's PDF to PDF/A converter to fix common issues — it embeds colour profiles, adds XMP metadata, and strips JavaScript automatically.
