Your audio never leaves your machine.

Most online volume adjusters upload your audio to a server. fwip processes everything in your browser — your recordings stay private.

fwip works differently. The processing engine runs entirely in your browser. Your audio is read from your device, processed on your CPU, and the result is saved back to your device. No server is involved. We literally cannot see your file.

No server processing

Everything runs on your device using WebAssembly. Your file never touches a network.

Frequently asked.

How do I make my audio louder without distortion?
Use the normalise option, which analyses the entire file and brings the peak volume to a standard level without clipping. For manual adjustment, stay under +10dB to avoid distortion.
What is audio normalisation?
Normalisation analyses your audio and adjusts the volume so the loudest peak reaches a target level. fwip uses the EBU R128 loudnorm standard (−16 LUFS) which is used by podcasts, YouTube, and streaming platforms.
Will boosting volume cause clipping?
Large boosts (+15dB or more) can cause clipping on loud passages. The normalise option avoids this by intelligently adjusting the dynamic range. For manual boosts, listen to the preview before downloading.
Can I adjust volume without re-encoding?
Volume adjustment requires modifying the audio data, so re-encoding is necessary. fwip uses high-quality encoding settings to minimise any quality impact.
What formats are supported?
MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, AAC, and FLAC as input. Output is available as MP3 or WAV.
