How does AI denoising work in the browser?▾
fwip runs a Real-ESRGAN neural network in your browser using ONNX Runtime and WebAssembly. The AI model (~5 MB) is downloaded once and cached. Your images never leave your device.
Can I control how much noise is removed?▾
Yes. The strength slider ranges from 1 to 10. Lower values preserve more texture, while higher values remove more grain. A before/after comparison lets you see the difference in real time.
Will denoising reduce image detail?▾
AI denoising is designed to distinguish noise from real detail. At moderate strength settings it removes grain while preserving edges and textures. Very high settings may soften fine details.
What types of noise can be removed?▾
fwip handles ISO grain from high-sensitivity photos, compression artefacts, and general digital noise. It works best on photos taken in low light or with high ISO settings.
