What does Fix My Image actually fix?▾
It auto-detects and fixes four common image problems: incompatible format (converts HEIC, BMP, TIFF to JPG/PNG), oversized files (compresses to web-friendly size), excessive dimensions (resizes to 2048px max), and hidden EXIF metadata (strips GPS, camera info, timestamps).
Does my photo contain GPS coordinates?▾
If you took it with a smartphone, almost certainly yes. Every iPhone and Android photo embeds your exact latitude and longitude in the EXIF metadata. Fix My Image detects this and strips it automatically.
Will fixing my image reduce quality?▾
The quality reduction is minimal and usually invisible. fwip uses 85% JPEG quality which is visually indistinguishable from the original for photos. Images with transparency are saved as lossless PNG.
Why is my iPhone photo 12MB?▾
iPhones shoot at very high resolution (4032×3024 or higher) in HEIC format. While HEIC is efficient, the raw dimensions mean large files. Fix My Image resizes to 2048px (still plenty for web, email, and social) and compresses to under 500KB.
What is EXIF data and why should I care?▾
