Most passport photo tools upload your face to a server to resize it. fwip does the cropping in your browser, so the photo of you never leaves your device. It sizes to the correct dimensions and aspect ratio only, and is honest that it cannot judge whether a photo meets a country's rules.

fwip works differently. The processing engine runs entirely in your browser. Your image is read from your device, processed on your CPU, and the result is saved back to your device. No server is involved. We literally cannot see your file.

Does this guarantee my photo will be accepted?▾

No. fwip resizes and crops to the correct pixel dimensions and aspect ratio only. It does not check head size, expression, lighting, shadows, or background colour, and the rules differ by country. Always confirm against official government guidance before you submit.

Which sizes are supported?▾

United States 2x2 inch (600x600 px), United Kingdom, EU / Schengen and Australia at 35x45 mm, Canada at 50x70 mm, India at 51x51 mm, plus a custom millimetre option. Millimetre sizes convert to pixels at 300 or 600 DPI.

What pixel size do the millimetre specs produce?▾

Pixels are millimetres divided by 25.4, times the DPI. At 300 DPI, 35x45 mm is 413x531 px and 50x70 mm is 591x827 px. At 600 DPI those double. The US and India specs are fixed pixel sizes and ignore the DPI setting.

Will it distort my face?▾

No. The crop always preserves the spec aspect ratio. You reposition and zoom the photo inside that frame, and empty edges are filled with the background colour you choose. The photo is never stretched.

Does the photo get uploaded anywhere?▾

No. Everything runs in your browser with the canvas API. The image is read, cropped, and exported locally. Nothing is sent to a server.
