Overview

fwip is built so your files stay on your device. This policy explains what we collect, what we don't, and how the product works.

The short version

• Files are processed locally on your device.
• We don't upload, store, see, or transmit your files.
• No account is required to use the Web Tools.
• No ads.
• No tracking pixels or fingerprinting.
• No cookies.
• Cookie-free aggregate analytics (Plausible).
• We collect your email address only if you give it to us.
• Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy.
• We never see your card details.

Your files

Your files are processed locally on your device. No file or file content is uploaded, transmitted, stored, logged, or read by us. There is no server-side processing infrastructure for files to go to. If you choose to send us a file directly (for example, attached to a support email), we only have it because you sent it, and we use it only to help with your request.

What we don't collect

No account is required to use the Web Tools. We do not collect file contents, file names, or any record of which files you processed. We do not collect behavioural advertising data or build user profiles. We do not sell personal information.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics for anonymous, aggregate page-view analytics. Plausible is designed to operate without cookies or cross-site tracking. Plausible may process limited technical information, such as IP address, user-agent, page URL and referrer, to produce anonymous aggregate analytics. We do not use Plausible to identify you, track you across sites, or see your files.

Cookies

We do not set cookies. No cookie-based advertising, no retargeting, no behavioural tracking. There is no cookie banner on fwip because there is nothing to consent to. If this changes, we will update this policy.

Fonts

Our fonts are self-hosted. Loading a page on fwip does not send a request to Google Fonts or any third-party font service.

Email you give us

We collect your email address only if you provide it: subscribing to our newsletter, asking a support question, or contacting us. We use it for the purpose you gave it for. The desktop app is downloaded directly from our download page and runs its 7-day trial locally on your device, so no email is required to try or use it. Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe at any time. We do not sell or rent your email address.

Payments

Purchases of the Offline App are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record, under their own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive or store your card details. We receive purchase confirmation and the information we need to issue and validate your licence key.

Licence validation

Activating the paid Offline App may contact Lemon Squeezy's licensing service to validate your licence key and device count. This is what operates the licence and the 3-device limit.

Overseas service providers

Some of our service providers may process personal information outside Australia. These include Lemon Squeezy (payments and licensing) and Plausible (analytics, EU-hosted). Where we disclose personal information to overseas providers, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled appropriately.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask what personal information we hold about you (most likely your email address, purchase confirmation, licence information, support emails, or newsletter status), and ask us to correct or delete it. Contact [email protected].

Children

fwip is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the effective date above.
