What encryption does fwip use? ▾
AES-256-GCM with PBKDF2 key derivation (100,000 iterations). This is the same standard used by banks and governments.
Are my encrypted files stored anywhere? ▾
No. Encrypted files are generated in your browser and downloaded directly to your device. fwip has no server storage, no accounts, and no cloud sync. Secure Notes stores encrypted data in your browser's localStorage only.
Can fwip recover my password? ▾
No. fwip never sees or stores your passwords. If you forget an encryption password, the data cannot be recovered. This is by design — it means nobody else can recover it either.
